Elisa Garosi is a visual artist who works with photography and multimedia. Her practice is characterized by an alternation between research and production: through research in physical, digital, public, and private archives, she uncovers stories—often marginal or non-linear—which are then woven together and presented in a new form.
Her installations become spaces for dialogue where one can explore the relationship between care, connection, and the collective imagination.
In her shoes (2022)
In her shoes is a multifaceted project exploring the relationship between women and clothing—objects that accompany the body through every stage of life. Clothing and fabric serve as metaphors for memory and identity, as they weave together technical knowledge, traditions, and social and intergenerational roles. The garment thus becomes a symbolic space, suspended between the material world and the collective imagination. In her shoes takes shape through an exploration of photographic archives, which have become central hubs of visual culture thanks to the digitization and online dissemination of collections. The visual narrative is constructed by following the processes of textile regeneration: by recovering images and stories—free of copyright—and reintroducing them into a new life cycle, thereby honoring the memory they hold.
