About Us
INSIGHT Foto Festival is organised by Gattabuia APS, a non-profit association formed in Varese in 2018. We mainly work with contemporary photography and are strongly multidisciplinary, promoting art and new visual languages as means of learning, transformation and cultural welfare.
Gattabuia is for us a place in which to experiment with contemporary images and a workshop for artistic and cultural creativity. We work towards a dialogue between art, community, the local area and cultural contexts, generating learning, relationships and active citizenship.
A network project
Gattabuia creates, curates and organises exhibitions, artistic production and research projects on contemporary languages. We educate about image, teaching and orientation towards photography, paying special attention to the young and the interpersonal dimension of the photographic experience.
We work with institutions, cultural bodies and non-profit organisations, schools, universities, academies and businesses to create a network for meaningful artistic and educational initiatives aimed at spreading the language of photography and supporting talent and its social impact on individuals and groups.
Our team combines multidisciplinary skills: artistic direction, contemporary photography, curation, cultural planning and management dialogue with such areas as education, orientation, participation, communication, visual content, graphic design, web marketing and the development of institutional partnerships. The result is a transversal approach which intertwines artistic research, education and the active involvement of the public, the community and the surrounding area.
