Fantamania (2024)
Social anxiety permeates the daily lives of a growing number of people. The inability to experience social relationships peacefully may originate at different stages of life, but it can often be traced back to traumatic events that occurred during an individual’s development. Fundamental to healthy human development is a network of social support, naturally identified with the family. When this support is lacking, relational difficulties tend to increase. This is how chosen families emerge: networks of emotional support that provide the foundation for a balanced social and communal existence, where there is no need to hide one’s true nature behind a mask.
An intense immersion into human complexity, exploring solitude, isolation, and the resilience of the queer community: this is how Fantamania was born. From an insider’s perspective, the project addresses social abuse, internal paranoias, visual hallucinations, and the strength of chosen family in the search of rebirth.
